Kira is a sweet 6-year-old girl looking for a home that understands that the best life doesn’t always have to be the most active one.

Because of an elbow condition, Kira isn’t a dog for long hikes, runs, or strenuous adventures. She enjoys short walks, light play, and plenty of time relaxing in the yard. She can play with other dogs, but her activity should be limited and supervised to help protect her elbow. Most of all, Kira loves being close to her people and is happiest when she can simply be part of the family.

Kira is house trained, crate trained, and good on leash. She is dog friendly and tends to prefer male dogs, although she can do well with females. She has also lived successfully with cats and even chickens! Kira especially loves children and would be thrilled to have some of her own.

Her ideal home could be a family with children age 7+ and possibly another calm dog. She could also be a wonderful companion for a quieter household or retired couple, either as the only dog or alongside another calm canine companion.

Kira needs a family willing to respect her physical limitations while giving her all the companionship, affection, yard time, and gentle adventures she deserves.
