Northwest Working Breed Rescue grew out of fostering, transport, rescue operations, and a simple question: what would rescue look like if compassion were paired with strong systems and thoughtful processes?
It started with one foster dog.
In June 2023, Alecia volunteered to foster a dog named Kiara. Kiara arrived that same evening, bonded quickly with the family dog Luna, and fostering turned into adoption.
A few months later, six puppies were found along a highway in Eastern Washington during triple-digit temperatures. With foster homes scarce, the family stepped in and ultimately took five of the six puppies. That experience pulled them deeper into rescue work.
Over time, that work expanded into dog transport, social media, website rebuilding, shelter and CRM systems, and operational support behind the scenes. The experience showed both how much heart exists in rescue and how easily good work can be limited by weak processes.

With Alecia’s background in sales and relationship-building and Martin’s background in technology and systems, NWWBR was built to support dogs, fosters, and adopters with thoughtful placement and sustainable operations.
